Yes, that's right. The second mustang has been totaled. (No it wasn't me this time.)
$3,800 down the tubes in a split second because some idiot teenager didn't know how to drive. Okay sure, the kid had just gotten his license to drive but look at me! I never even had a permit and I don't randomly slam on brakes in traffic for NO reason, I drive like a sane person. If I drove that poorly when I was a teenager my dad would have taken me to the nearest empty parking lot and I wouldn't have been out on the road until I was no longer a dumb driver or hit a light post.
What really pissed me off about this is that because it was a rear-end collision, we will get NO money to replace it. We both worked hard for that car. I wrecked my bf's 1989 Mustang and this newer 1997 Mustang GT was a result of me paying back my bf for the one that I wrecked. So I was attached to this car too. Aaron had JUST gotten done fixing the brakes and we hadn't even gotten the title in the mail yet! If you've just gotten your license and you can't drive, stay off the road. Just the way the world works. The hard worker gets shafted.
UPDATE: So we just got a copy of the police report. The kid was 16 years old just as I thought. But what is stupid, is what he said he was doing. He says, he was stopping for a traffic light. Just to give you guys an idea of how idiotic that statement is, here is a map.
[link] is not a lot of traffic on that road, especially not on a Saturday so it's very doubtful traffic was backed all the way to the bridge. The police officers responding to this could tell you how congested this street was. I don't think we plan on taking this lying down, we worked too hard to get what we have and we should not have to pay for an inexperienced driver's mistake.

They are still being idiots too. People are even talking about imposing a curfew. They also just reduced the number of infractions teenagers can do before getting their licenses revoked. So they are idiots everywhere it seems...
